Simon Home Frame and Truss at Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast are currently only one of two production plants in Australia with their level of technology. They can boast 5 assembly lines in their 5000m square single level factory. In fact, they’re capable of turning out a monster roof truss 50 metres long by 4.2 metres high! However they have no idea how they’d move it or deliver it and unless Boeing decides to start production on the estate or Mick Jagger decides to build a weekender at Noosa they’ll probably never have to worry about it.

It all began when Morgan Hugh Simon opened his first sawmill in Cooyar near Toowoomba creating a family dynasty that delivers quality timber and hardware products to both builders and the wider public to this day. 

The state of the art facility at Coolum commenced operations in 2004 and features computer controlled cutting equipment ensuring a high level of accuracy and continuity. A far cry from the days when hardware and building industry employees were blokes in white coats with a roll your own stuck behind the ear and three fingers missing.

Supplementary to the truss operation are two wall frame producing plants which at capacity can turn out 500 metres of sturdy pre-nailed wall framing in one shift.
